Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s (HMSI) has rolled out its three millionth CB Shine motorcycle from the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. With this milestone, HMSI says the bike, its best-selling motorcycle in India, has become ‘India’s highest-selling 125cc motorcycle’ and also the first-ever 125cc motorcycle globally to achieve the 30 lakh unit mark. Commenting on the milestone, Keita Muramatsu, president and CEO, HMSI, said: “The CB Shine is not only the No. 1 selling 125cc motorcycle in India but also the world. For the first time, in FY’14, the CB Shine has become the No. 1 selling motorcycle for Honda Motor Company, Japan worldwide.”

Y S Guleria, VP (sales and marketing), HMSI, said: “The CB Shine has become India’s first ever 125cc motorcycle to achieve 30 lakh unit sales. This reaffirms that the CB Shine is universally accepted by customers.”

To meet demand for the bike, HMSI is producing the CB Shine at both its Tapukara (Rajasthan) and Narsapura (Karnataka) plants, which have a combined manufacturing capacity of 3 million units per annum.
