HMSI's BS VI model sales cross 60,000 units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India has launched the BS VI-compliant Activa 125 and the 125cc motorcycle SP 125 over the past 3 months.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India's first set of BS VI products, the Activa 125 BS VI and 125cc motorcycle SP 125 have crossed the 60,000 units’ despatch mark. These models were launched by the company over the past three months.

Commenting on the sales, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior VP, sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Honda’s technology in its first two BS-VI models (Activa 125 BS-VI and SP 125) is led by many patents like enhanced smart power (eSP) and ACG starter motor. There are many first-in-segment advanced features, significant mileage, coupled with the superior peace of mind offered by the two-wheeler industry’s first 6-year warranty.”

HMSI's BS VI engine comes with Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology, which integrates patented ACG starter motorwith Programmed Fuel Injection (with Honda Eco Technology for consistent power, higher mileage with less emissions) and reduced frictional losses (for better power output).

Yadvinder Singh added, “Crossing the 60,000 units’ landmark a quarter before the BS VI March 2020 deadline, even as we are yet to complete the all-India market availability is a testimony of Indian customers’ confidence on Honda in the BS-VI era.”

The Honda Activa 125 has been developed with 26 new patents. The 125cc PGM-FI HET engine, boosted by the eSP technology, is claimed to provide 13% more mileage. It is available in 3 variants with the price starting at Rs 67,490 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The SP125, which has 19 patents and is powered by the 125cc HET eSP tech engine, likewise is claimed to offer 16% more mileage. It is available in 2 variants with prices starting at Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
