Domestic two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp Ltd has consolidated its leadership, clocking over 1 million (10 lakh) units in retail sales during the festive season this year.

“Thanks to the phenomenal customer response to our range of products including all the new launches, the 1 million unit landmark was achieved during the 35-day festive period starting with the Navratras. This is a robust 11% growth over the corresponding period last year,” said a company press release.

Hero’s two recently launched scooters, Maestro Edge and Duet, have been an instant hit and there has also been a significant demand for the new Splendor Pro. The Maestro Edge, which was unveiled in September-end, sold more than 15,000 units within two weeks of its launch; while the company also introduced the new Splendor Pro on October 13, continuing its aggressive product launches during the festive season. The Splendor series of the company regained the top spot of two-wheeler sales in September this year, after three months of trailing behind Honda Activa.

These, along with the robust sales of Passion Pro and Glamour bikes, and the continuing popularity of Pleasure and Maestro scooters have resulted in the double digit growth.

“We are focused on taking this momentum forward as we look to drive growth in the rest of the year and beyond,” added the company release.
