HERE Tech, Deduce Technologies partner to provide intelligent mobility solution for Indian roads

HERE Technologies, a leading provider of mapping and location platform services, today announced its partnership with Gurgaon-headquartered Deduce Technologies with an aim to offer accurate information about Indian roads and traffic conditions. The partnership is expected to enhance HERE’s Real-Time Traffic solution that identifies congestion areas and its reasons by delivering high-quality flow and incident content every minute.

HERE says its real-time traffic solution is aided with optimised data consumption, alerts drivers on routing, ETA (estimated time of arrival), predictions, colour display and can also be ingested by vehicle ADAS applications. The service is presently used by ride-hailing companies, cities, road transport agencies, logistics companies, and air quality analytics specialists, considerably improves safety on roads, thanks to its safety warning notifications, accurate incidents reports and faster hard-braking events detection. The data is derived-basis the probe points detected by GPS trackers, on-board sensors and rich driver assistance systems in vehicles.

Commenting on the partnership, Rohit Kaushik, Head – Product Portfolio Operations, South Asia, HERE Technologies said, “Traffic congestion remains one of the monumental challenges to India’s extensive infrastructure. Various industry reports suggest that road jams in just top four cities, cost our economy billions per year.  Intelligent mobility solutions enabled by geo-aware data can help identify and solve these challenges, especially prevalent in the transport and logistics sector, on-demand services and the public sector organisations. Deduce is a recognized leader in the Indian geospatial space and we hope this partnership will support our vision to drive the country’s broader adoption of smart mobility solutions.”

Brajesh Shrivastava, director, Deduce Technologies said, “We are glad to partner with HERE Technologies to leverage our Vehicle Tracking System Traffic feed. Our AIS-140 certified VTS platform offers unique traffic feed through our all-India commercial vehicle fleets that provides coverage across all major roads, national highways, throughout the day. In fact, during Covid-19 we are among very few firms still providing billions of traffic probe feed across India. We feel our traffic feed will complement HERE Traffic by further enhancing coverage, reach and quality. We look forward to partnering with HERE to build Intelligent mobility solutions for India and in turn save billions for our economy.”

The partners say the collaboration will add a significant volume of GPS probe data to HERE’s existing traffic capabilities in India, with improved quality and coverage of traffic maps, with high-end precision. Deduce Technology’s advanced technology platform and analytics will enhance HERE’s traffic product by sharing traffic data generated from their fleets, thereby helping HERE to enhance GPS probe points significantly. With more probe points, HERE will be able to deliver better coverage and quality traffic information, thus, providing a better navigation experience and a reduced ETA for the customers on the roads.
