Skoda Auto India appoints Gurpratap Boparai as MD 

Boparai has over 25 years of experience in the automobile sector and has worked with companies like Fiat India Automobiles, TELCO (now Tata Motors), Ocap Chassis Parts, Iveco and Tata Cummins.

Skoda Auto India appoints Gurpratap Boparai as MD 

Gurpratap Boparai, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles, will move to Skoda Auto India as its managing director from April 2, 2018.

He will fill the position that was lying vacant since May last year when Sudhir Rao left the company. Skoda Auto India and Volkswagen India will look to benefit from Boparai's skills and experience in manufacturing, vendor development and sourcing.  

Boparai had joined Fiat India in 2007 as assistant vice-president, manufacturing and powertrain division, and took over as head of the powertrain division in 2009 where he was responsible for business development and overlooking all the functions of powertrain plants like manufacturing, finance, HR and PE among others. He was appointed CEO in August 2012. 

Boparai has over 25 years of experience in the automobile sector and has worked with companies like Fiat India Automobiles, TELCO (now Tata Motors), Ocap Chassis Parts, Iveco and Tata Cummins.
