The chief minister of Gujarat Ms. Anandiben Patel recently stopped by at General Motors India’s Halol manufacturing facility during her visit to the Halol industrial area. This was her first visit to the area and the plant after taking over as the new chief minister of the state.
The senior GM India leadership team led by P Balendran, vice-president, Corporate Affairs; Ramakrishnan - plant head; Rakesh Mehta - HR director and Niraj Chaturvedi - head (Administration), received her at the plant helipad. She was given a brief overview of the overall operations of the plant apart from the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives undertaken by the company. She was also briefed about the future product plans.
General Motors set up the Halol plant in 1996. The plant has a capacity of 110,000 units per annum and rolls out a series of vehicles.
