Greaves Cotton’s engineering solutions business showcases sustainable engine and powertrain solutions including a hydrogen-powered engine concept as well as a Euro V+-compliant engine for the European market
Greaves Cotton, one of India’s leading diversified engineering companies, has showcased its comprehensive mobility solutions at the Auto Expo 2025 – The Motor Show, underway at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. The company used the platform of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo to unveil its new product offerings across two- and three-wheelers, including concept vehicles, charging solutions, engines, powertrain systems, and retail aftermarket accessories.
Greaves Electric Mobility and its Ampere brand displayed the Ampere Xyber electric motorcycle concept, Xpress two-wheeler concept and Greaves Xargo, a customisable, multi-application electric three-wheeler.
One of the highlights of Greaves Cotton’s Auto Expo 2025 showcase comes from its engineering solutions business Greaves Engineering, which has displayed a variety of innovative and sustainable engine and powertrain solutions, including a hydrogen-powered engine concept. There is also a CNG engine, Euro V+ engine, EV powertrain, engine components, and other motion control components from Excel Controlinkage, which Greaves Cotton acquired last year.
According to the company, “the products are defined by design, engineering, materials chemistry, weight optimisation, and aesthetics”, underscoring its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The G396 hydrogen-powered engine has been developed as part of the company’s alternate fuel strategy.
Elaborating on these developments, Dr. Arup Basu, Managing Director, Greaves Cotton, said, “Staying true to our purpose of empowering prime-over solutions, we are proud to introduce our new alternate fuel engines, e-powertrains, and other advanced engineering solutions. By leveraging synergies across our diverse and time-tested capabilities, we aim to drive innovation and build a future-ready product portfolio. Nagesh Basavanhalli, Non-Executive, Vice-Chairman, Greaves Cotton said, “The products showcased blend cutting-edge technology, sophisticated engineering, and intelligent design applications across versatile segments, and are inspired by deep consumer insights. These innovations have been proudly conceptualised and created in India, with the aim of positively impacting a billion lives and empowering them through smart, sustainable, and accessible solutions. Our approach to diversification has been clear — get closer to the customer, embrace fuel-agnostic solutions, and democratise smart and sustainable mobility. 2025 marks an exciting new chapter in our transformation from a single-fuel organisation to a diversified provider of future-ready, fuel-agnostic solutions designed to meet the needs of an evolving world.”
