Greaves Cotton raids fake parts maker, seller in Delhi

Greaves Cotton's is carrying out its nationwide initiative to crack down on spurious parts manufacturers and traders.

Greaves Cotton, one of the leading engineering company in India, conducted raids on manufacturers and traders of spurious parts at two locations in Delhi. This was part of its nationwide initiative towards cracking down on the businesses of spurious auto-parts.

The raid conducted along with the Delhi police, seized spurious spare parts and counterfeit labels from Nishant Auto Spare, Karol Bagh and a godown from the central district in Delhi. Some of the spurious spare parts which were raided include – push rod & sleeve set, packing pouch, M.R.P. stickers, cam shaft, valve set, rocker lever set, cylinder kit, disk oil seal, oil seal packing pouch. A criminal complaint has been lodged against the shops raided, of which the warehouse belongs to Manoj Kumar and the manufacturing unit belongs to Rajesh Mohanlal (Nishant Auto Spare).

As per the company statement, th enforcement team consisting of the Indian Police and Greaves Cotton's legal team have been working closely and identifying both manufacturing units and selling outlets and locations of counterfeit spares across major cities and trade hubs in India.

Commenting on this exercise, Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD and CEO said, “Greaves Cotton promotes and provides genuine spare parts as a part of commitment to our huge customer base. In order to guard the image and protect the share of genuine spares sales, Greaves Cotton often has been involved in carrying out these raids to keep constant check over this menace.”
