First international e-Conference on electric mobility on September 9

The global electric car market recorded another year of growth in 2019. An estimated 2.1 million electric cars were sold during the year, according to Swiss EV charging infrastructure supplier Virta. Along with the EV industry, the global charging network is also expanding. The network grew from 2.1 million chargers in 2018 to 7.3 million chargers last year. Join industry leaders on World EV Day’ to deliberate on the future for EVs on September 9 at Autocar Professional’s first international e-Conference on Electric Mobility at 10 am.

Growth in the EV industry strongly underline that the future of transportation is electric. However, there’s a lot to be done still. With OEMs and Tier 1s facing challenges in handling multiple disruptions in the traditional auto industry, it’s becoming almost essential for EV industry players to strike alliances for benefits like cost and technology sharing. How can the industry gain the critical volumes, allowing players in it to get the economy of scale? Which are the markets where smart EV related policy framing has yielded good results? Is the EU’s big ticket EV investment framework something to study closely by others? Can India, the largest ICE two-wheeler market, be the largest electric two-wheeler market too? Can electric public transportation pave the way for greater consumer acceptance of other EVs?

Highly accomplished industry leaders from India and overseas will discuss, deliberate and find answers to the questions above and more, while also sharing how the industry can scale over the challenges on the path of e-mobility, at the International e-Conference on Electric Mobility on Wednesday, September 9, from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m (IST). The day also happens to be the inaugural ‘World EV Day’. Ashwani Gupta, COO, Nissan Motor Corporation, will deliver the keynote address at the e-conference. Dr Andrew Palmer, Chairman, Optare Plc, will be the guest of honour.  Industry leaders who will participate as panellists at the e-Conference are Henrik Fisker, Founder, chairman & CEO, Fisker Inc, Kishor Patil, CEO, KPIT Technologies, Naveen Munjal, MD, Hero Eco Group, and President, SMEV, Anand Kulkarni, Product Line Director - Electric Vehicle & ALFA Architecture - Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, founder & CEO, Kinetic Green, Rajeev Chaba, MD & President, MG Motor India, Chetan Maini, Co-founder & Vice-Chairman, Sun Mobility, Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA and Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India
