EV-charging ecosystem firm BrightBlu starts operations in India

Asia Electric and DrivAMP announce merger and launch new brand for EV charging solutions – BrightBlu.

The advance of electric mobility is bringing a variety of industry stakeholders together, and in the world of start-ups, new-age organisations are looking to make the most of their capabilities.

Asia Electric, an EV charging solutions company and DrivAMP, a smart charging technology provider, have announced the merger of their business operations. The new entity will now operate under the BrightBlu brand.

BrightBlu, which will be able to achieve significant business synergies through vertical integration, will offer an integrated suite of hardware solutions, cloud services and support for EV drivers as well as the owners of charging stations.

Commenting on the merger and launch of this new entity, Wybren Van Der Vaart, co-founder and CEO, BrightBlu said, “We are very happy to announce the merger of Asia Electric and DrivAMP. This new partnership, in the fast-moving electric mobility market in India will enables us to optimise our product and service offerings. BrightBlu will offer customers better, faster and ultimately more cost-effective solutions for their charging needs which are designed and developed in India”.

Asia Electric, founded in 2014, offers intelligent charging solutions for electric vehicles and has been working with OEMs and grid operators to supply charging solutions for the Indian market. Asia Electric was furthermore part of a public-private-partnership with the Dutch government to transfer technology and knowledge in the field of electric mobility.

DrivAMP has been active since 2016 and has in-house developed the technologies required for smart charging of electric vehicles. DrivAMP has been supplying technology to hardware manufacturers and charge-point operators in India.
