Ertiga tops December 2021 UV sales

Maruti’s Ertiga topped the UV sales in December 2021 according to figures put out by SIAM.
The people carrier sold 11,840 units for the last month of the calendar, followed by Hyundai Venue with 10,360 units, the Brezza with 9531 units and the Creta and Mahindra Bolero recording sales of 7609 and 5314 units respectively.
Overall, the UV sales numbers have been one of the bright spots in the Indian automotive sector. According to SIAM, UV sales in the last quarter of 2021 were 382,315 units as against 339,276 units in the year earlier quarter. For calendar 2021, UV sales touched 14,18,649 units as against 897,416 units in 2020 where sales were impacted by the affects of the pandemic which included lockdowns, dealer closures and supply chain glitches.
