Enchanted Odyssey, a Navi Mumbai-based travel company, has launched a super luxury coach targeting luxury travelers from India and abroad. The company unveiled its new super luxury 12- seater coach, built on an Isuzu chassis, today. The bus, which has comfortable, electronic-controlled seats, also has amenities such as a TV, stereo, pantry with a refrigerator, microwave and tea maker, toilet with shower facilities and GPS.
Talking to Autocar Professional, Suresh Deol, director, Enchanted Odyssey, said: “This is not purely a business decision but we have come up with this idea thanks to our passion for travelling. We want to promote rural tourism like culture and handicrafts and the aim is to provide a comfortable and luxurious experience to travelers willing to pay for exploring exotic places in India where often no proper travelling options are available.”
This 12-seater bus is targeted at a limited number of people, group of individuals or families scouting for short holidays. A local bus body building company helped build the bus in four months.
The first such bus will be stationed at Navi Mumbai, catering to travelers keen to explore locales around Mumbai. The company is also exploring possibilities to tie up with the travel-tourism trade, five-star hotels and corporate houses.
Commenting on the chassis, Deol said, “We have selected the SML chassis because this was the best option available in the segment. The bus has a strong and sturdy engine which can run the air-conditioning and other operations efficiently.”
Enchanted Odyssey aims to build 20 such buses in the next 2-3 years; however, they may differ in passenger configuration. These buses will be stationed in various regions like Agra, Bhuj and other parts of the country, largely targeting inbound travelers coming to India.
The company is bullish on this service and expects a good response. “Our research shows that there is a need for such service and our surveys among travelers suggest people are willing to pay but want such conveniences and a luxurious travel experience. We want to go to places which are less explored in India,” remarked Deol.
