Dynapac India inaugurated its new facility in Pune for manufacturing road construction equipment. The facility was inagurated by Jean-Claude Fayat, president and CEO, Fayat Group.

The company started manufacturing soil compactors in India in 2008 and has since expanded the range to a full line of soil compactors and asphalt rollers for domestic and export markets.  With a decade of experience in manufacturing in India,  the new integrated facility in Pune will enable increase production capacity that will strengthen the group presence in the country. This the company says will enable it to widen its customer base and strengthen new technology that will make them more competitive in the growing road market in India.

The new plant located at Pulgaon, Pune has a production capacity in the range of 1,200-1,500 units, which the company says will boost up the sales in the market. In CY 2018 the company manufactured 750 units in India, and at present has a market share between 12-15 percent in the sector. Under the Fayat umbrella, Dynapac has continued to operate as an autonomous manufacturer.

The Pune facility is spread across 5.5 acre and will have an employee strength of about 100 people. In India Dynapac offers product design and development with competence center along with both local sourcing and support of global sourcing teams. It has also established a distribution centre with sales and service support.

Both soil compactors and asphalt rollers are produced at the Pune factory. The soil compactors are between 10- to 12-tonne and will serve both the Indian market as well as being exported. The double drum asphalt rollers will be built in two segments: one small tandem roller of 1.6-tonne and one segment including rollers between 7- to 9- tonne. Like the soil compactors, these are both for the local market as well as for other markets.

Jean-Claude Fayat, president of the Fayat Group, said: “This investment is a great opportunity for the Fayat Group and its customers, as Dynapac is a key player in the road construction equipment market with a highly recognised brand. Dynapac has an excellent strategic place in our Group and we plan on growing and expanding its presence and product offering. We will leverage its expertise and technologies together with our existing portfolio to continuously develop equipment that closely addresses our customers’ needs.”
