DivgiWarner likely to bring DCT to India
The company's future new product plan would likely include a dual clutch transmission (DCT) which finds application in premium B-segment cars.
DivgiWarner, which is a leading provider of automotive powertrain solutions and products and specialises in four-wheel drive and synchroniser system solutions, is looking to introduce a wider range of products in India. This would likely include a dual clutch transmission (DCT) which finds application in premium B-segment cars. The plan, according to the company, is to source it from Thailand and then locally assemble the same. However, it is understood this will take 2-3 years to fructify.
DivgiWarner, which has provided the assembly for the 4WD system in the Tata Hexa showcased at the Auto Expo, has two plants in Pune. The company was set up in 1995 as a joint venture between Divgi Metalwares and BorgWarner Inc, the USA-based product leader in highly engineered automotive powertrain components and systems, for manufacturing BorgWarner’s products and components for 4WD vehicles in India and supplement BorgWarner’s requirement of components globally.
