Detel launches affordable ISI-standard two-wheeler helmets at Rs 699 to help improve road safety

Detel says the durable, trendy, affordable, unisex helmets that have been manufactured keeping in mind the everyday use of a rider.

Detel, a brand of low-cost mobile handsets, televisions, masks and electric two-wheelers has announced a road safety initiative under its CSR arm Detel Foundation. The company says it has taken the initiative of offering helmets at a very economical price with the objective of making ISI-marked helmets affordable to all.

The usage of helmets for two-wheeler riders is compulsory across the country and its applicable not only to the rider but also to the pillion under section 129 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The act further defines that the helmet should have a thickness of 20-25 mm with superior quality foam. Detel says in India the organised or ISI-certified helmets are in the range of Rs 1,500-2,000, which is about 65-70% of the helmet market.

As part of the initiative, Detel and Detel Foundation aim to ensure that road safety issue is addressed with a solution-based approach. The company says it has launched its affordable range of helmets as customers are purchasing spurious helmets because of its low-cost, and it wants to “provide better options in an economical range.” The company has launched its Tred range of BIS-certified helmets which is thoughtfully designed to assure comfort and durability at Rs 699. Detel says the durable, trendy, affordable, unisex helmets that have been manufactured keeping in mind the everyday use of a rider.

Despite its low-price range, the newly launched helmet comes with exceptional features. The look and the feel of the helmet are very premium and provide removable interiors as per individual need. The chick-pad and visor are easily detachable. The helmet’s visor is made scratch free and its head comes with a reflector to ensure a safe ride even during the night.
