Charge+Zone, a technology-driven EV charging network startup has announced that through its partnership with various state departments it has installed a network of over 125 DC fast-chargers in cities such as Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Patna, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Varanasi among others.

These charging stations are located at locations within each city, to ensure availability of energy for public transport, especially electric buses. According to the company, the network is currently supporting a fleet of over 500 e-buses in the country. Furthermore, the company aims to extend its network in Chandigarh and Bangalore as well.

The charging stations are built under the CCS2 charging protocol and can charge an electric bus up to 80 percent in under 90 minutes. Kartikey Haryani, founder and CEO, Charge+Zone said,  “As a part of our vision of creating a network of one million charging points by 2030, we have built an extensive network of electric bus charging stations.”

Since early 2019, Charge+Zone says it has progressively invested and developed large EV charging hubs for companies such as Ashok Leyland, Volvo-Eicher, GreenCell Mobility among others. The company also recently completed the electrification of over 1,000km of National Highways in India, by installing a network of 20 unmanned, app-driven, superfast EV charging points along the Gujarat-Maharashtra National highway. In addition to the B2B and B2C network for EV charging stations for both fleet and retail customers, it has established over 1,450 charging points across 650 EV charging stations, which it says cater to around 5,000 EVs on a daily basis.
