Intra-city logistics company CABT Logistics has tied up with Mahindra and Mahindra to procure 500 Mahindra-manufactured electric vehicles.

CABT is essentially a first- and last-mile delivery platform with warehousing and logistics operations in over 20 states in India. CABT Logistics recently announced plans to invest $ 8million to set up micro-fulfilment centres across India. The company handles the logistics requirements for leading companies including DHL, Maersk, IKEA, Amazon and Flipkart.

Mahindra & Mahindra will be offering a 5-year warranty on the battery or 150,000km, whichever is earlier.

Shailesh Kumar, founder of CABT Logistics said, “Sustainability is of paramount importance for us. In cognizance of that, we have been investing heavily in electric vehicles for both first-mile and last-mile deliveries. We aim to have at least 2,000 EVs by the end of 2022. This tie-up with M&M is in the same vein. This collaboration will not only ensure a strengthened fleet but also help in reducing our and our clients’ carbon footprint. It is a huge step towards our continued commitment to sustainability as well.”
