A little over a week ago, Autocar India reported that import duties on performance bikes had dropped. It also mentioned that BMW Motorrad would be one of the biggest gainers of the decrease in custom duty; a drop of 25 percent on CBU motorcycles. BMW has now released its new revised price list and the bikes are now more pocket-friendly by up to Rs 1.60 lakh on some models.

We have compared the new price list with BMW’s original price list from April 2017 and found that almost every motorcycle – aside from the recently launched F 750 GS and F 850 GS – have received sizeable price cuts. The company’s litre-class supersport, the S 1000 RR Standard and Pro has received a price cut of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 80,000, respectively. The new ex-showroom prices for the two models are Rs 17.90 lakh and Rs 20.60 lakh, which has resulted in more competitive pricing against its Japanese rivals.

The company’s two India Bike Week 2017 debutants, the R nine T Racer and the K 1600 B also received big cuts. The R nine T Racer is now cheaper by Rs 80,000, at Rs 16.50 lakh while the K 1600 B is cheaper by Rs 90,000 at Rs 28.10 lakh. See the price list comparison for BMW‘s entire India model line-up in the table below.

Expect to see similar price revisions from Aprilia, Yamaha, MV Agusta, Indian Motorcycle, Moto Guzzi and others.
