Bajaj Auto has reduced prices of its Dominar 250 sports tourer motorcycle by 16,800. As a result of the 10% price reduction, the midsized motorcycle, now costs Rs 154,176.

The price cut, at a time when most OEMs are hiking prices citing increased input costs, is aimed at drawing new buyers to the tourer. As per Autocar Professional’s sales statistics, the Dominar 250, which was launched in March 2020, has sold a total of 11,226 units till end-May 2021.

This price reduction comes after numerous price increases that were announced since the Bajaj Dominar 250 was launched at Rs 160,000 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in March 2020, which took it all the way to Rs 171,000.

At the revised Rs 154,000 pricing, the Dominar 250 now sits between the Rs 134,000 Yamaha FZ25 and the Rs 171,000 Suzuki Gixxer 250. It also makes the Dominar 250 nearly Rs 60,000 cheaper than its elder brother – the Dominar 400 – and a full Rs 74,500 more affordable than the KTM Duke 250.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 uses an engine based on the KTM 250 Duke, but with numerous changes, including a different head design. The motorcycle develops 27hp with 23.5Nm of peak torque. The Dominar 250 is a large and spacious motorcycle with a smooth and refined power delivery - this revised price will certainly boost its appeal.

According to Sarang Kanade – President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, “In times of price hikes across the industry, we have taken a stance of reducing price on Dominar 250 and make Sports Touring more accessible.”
