Baba N Kalyani, chairman and managing director, Bharat Forge, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘IIM-JRD Tata Award for Excellence in Corporate Leadership in Metallurgical industries – 2014’.
On the occasion of 68th Annual Technical Meeting of The Indian Institute of Metals, Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Steel & Mines honored Mr Kalyani with this award. The award ceremony was organised at the College of Engineering, Pune on November 14. Many distinguished industrialists, academicians, and researchers were present in this award ceremony.
The ‘IIM-JRD Tata Award for Excellence in Corporate Leadership in Metallurgical industries’ was conferred on Mr Kalyani for his outstanding contribution in the field of metallurgical industries and manufacturing sector.
Since 2008, each year the National Council of The Indian Institute of Metals selects one eminent public figure for conferring this award. Eminent personalities like Ratan Tata, B Muthurmanan , former vice-chairman of Tata Steel, Dr E Sreedharan , former MD of Delhi Metro, Debnarayan Bhattacharya, MD, Hindalco Industries, Dr Sanak Mishra, vice-president of Arcelor Mittal and HM Nerurkar, former MD of Tata Steel, have been earlier recipients of this award.
