Avera showcases Retrosa electric scooter with 140kph range

Andhra Pradesh-based startup Avera New and Renewable Energy showcased its electric two-wheeler offering Retrosa, which it claims has a top speed of 90kph at the Auto Expo Components 2020, Delhi.

The company says with electric mobility evolving fast there has been increase in people looking to switch towards cleaner vehicles. Furthermore, the momentum has gained traction for electric two-wheelers as the central and state-governments are coming forward to support the green vehicles.

Avera Energy is a vertically-integrated manufacturer of EVs and energy retailer startup launched by a team of entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh. The company aims to become a globally recognised manufacturer of economical, greener and more energy-efficient electric vehicles.

The start up says it is focussing on electrifying traditional emission-releasing vehicles for a more sustainable and economical solution.

In terms of specs, the Retrosa e2W comes has a 3W BLDC motor has a claimed range of 120-140km per charge and comes with a lithium-iron-phospate battery chemistry. The charging time with the company charger is said to enable a 80 percent charge in 3 hours.

The company says after its successful launch last year in Andhra Pradesh, it is planning to begin retail sales in Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
