Lucas-TVS on a green mission with CO2 reduction products

Chennai-based Lucas-TVS is leveraging Auto Expo 2014 to drive forward its components targeted at reducing CO2 emissions. Lightweight components will put the pedal on this initiative with the products to be displayed including gear reduction starter motors, high efficiency internal fan alternators, stop-start-cum-regenerative braking system using the super capacitor (fuel saving and emission reduction demands are significant in view of growing atmospheric pollution), BLDC motors, viscous clutch fan motors, two-wheeler engine cooling fan motors, electric driven oil-less vacuum pumps, reversible wiper motors and air compressor motors.

“These are required to meet the customer’s requirement for the next five years and also contribute to meeting the needs of next-generation automobiles,” said A G Satvinder Singh, executive director, Lucas-TVS.

The component maker is also participating in the Hybrid Electric Mobility Pavilion at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida where it will exhibit components suitable for use in electric vehicles.

Delphi-TVS Diesel Systems talks tech

This flagship joint venture between Delphi Corporation, USA, and TV Sundaram Iyengar & Sons India, is showcasing its advanced fuel injection systems for cars, SUVs and MUVs, LCVs, M&HCVs, tractors as well as single- and two-cylinder engines.

Delphi TVS makes common-rail diesel systems with electronic controller units (ECUs) to meet Euro 4, 5, 6 emission norms as well as those for the next generation of diesel engines. “Our future technology promises the engine more power, less fuel consumption and emission norms – the need of the hour,” says J S Chopra, president, Delphi-TVS Diesel Systems.

In addition to common-rail tech, Delphi-TVS also has rotary fuel injection and unit pump common-rail (UPCR) systems to cater to a wide range of customers.
