Auto Expo 2014: PCP Motors unveils motorhome

PCP Motors, a group company of Paracoat which manufactures NVH reduction components, has unveiled its new motorhome called ‘Terra’ and PCP ‘Care’ for those suffering from spinal and knee injuries. PCP says it has collaborated with Vantech Japan and Siam Motorhome of Thailand for the design and development of the Motorhome, customising it for the Indian market. PCP has showcased three different interior variants at the Expo.

The Terra Motorhome is meant for a family or group excursion of five to seven people (including the driver). The seating area can be converted into a bedroom. Facilities like an air-conditioner, heater, refrigerator, microwave, washroom, shower and shelves are available. There is also a display panel which monitors the level of fresh water and wastewater.

The Terra MotorHome has been designed for two base vehicles – Mahindra Genio and Isuzu D-Max – with the conversion cost between Rs 31.83 lakh and Rs 34.72 lakh. Delivery takes 13-15 weeks from the date of the order.

For PCP Care, which is meant for people suffering from spinal and knee injuries, PCP has designed a comfortable seat that can be retrofitted in the Maruti Eeco van. A hydraulic mechanism helps the seat to move out of the van and the passenger, after sitting comfortably, can by only pushing a button glide the seat back to its original position. The conversion cost of the hydraulic seat is Rs 3.69 lakh.

Commenting on these new concepts, Rajesh Poddar, director (Business Development), PCP Motors, said, “These vehicles have been built keeping in mind varied Indian conditions and special requirements of Indian customers. We have worked with our associates in Japan and Thailand for developing new interiors and localising the Terra on the Mahindra Genio and Isuzu D-Max.”
