New Delhi: Students of the Punjab-based Lovely Professional University (LPU) are to display 15 vehicles and five novel products developed as part of their curriculum. These include a family solar car, a mobile-operated driverless car, a multi-energy ‘smart hybrid car’, a dual-fuel bike, a hybrid cryogen engine, Hexa Copter and an all-terrain vehicle.

Talking to Autocar Professional, Ashok Mittal, chancellor of the university, said: “Students of mechanical engineering, electronics and computer science started work on these projects about two years ago under the guidance of their mentors in various teams. We are pleased to showcase their effort to industry.”

According to Mittal, the university is close to signing a technical tie-up with a Europe-based global company for technical assistance in design, development and testing.
