The highlight of the facelifted A6 is the inclusion of Matrix LED headlamps. The front grille is now more prominent while the front bumper has also been restyled. On the flanks, the car gets re-styled side skirts while at the back, it gets revised tail-lamps, a tweaked rear bumper along with redesigned exhausts. The facelift also gets the addition of a chrome strip along the lower edge of the boot-lid. The car also gets the addition of dynamic turn indicators as with the RS7.

Inside, the A6 facelift gets an updated infotainment system with voice activation, handwriting recognition and remote control for the rear seat passengers. There's also multi-zone climate control and now, the front passenger seat can be moved forward by the rear passenger with the push of a button.
