The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has announced the commencement of the second edition of the National Automobile Olympiad, in association with the National Program on Career Awareness (NPOCA).
The Olympiad aims to create awareness about the automotive industry among students and to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation in a competitive environment, which can help them develop important skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
Arindam Lahiri, CEO, ASDC, said: "We have spearheaded numerous projects aimed at upskilling and competitively positioning the industry. The National Automobile Olympiad opens today and will continue until September 15. The competition is open to students from classes 6 to 12 across all education boards. It will be a hybrid event, with the first two stages conducted online, followed by the finals in Delhi and participants should be willing to travel for the finals."
"There is no age restriction for students in the specified classes. Participants can register for free through the official website www.asdc.org.in/nao. The medium of instruction will be in English and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for all participants, " he added.
"The results of the first stage of the National Automobile Olympiad will be announced in November, with ASDC unveiling the winners in December and winners will be recognized by cash prizes, certifications, and an International study tour. Students and schools are encouraged to grab this opportunity to participate in the Olympiad and contribute to the growth and awareness of the automotive industry. Additionally, all participating schools will receive a certificate of participation" said the ASDC CEO.
According to Arun Mittal, Project Director of NPOCA, "The primary objective of the National Automobile Olympiad is to organise a nationwide campaign that educates the next generation about the wide range of career opportunities, future prospects, economic growth, and environmental impact within the automotive industry.
