Apollo Tyres has launched AWL 822, the largest loader tyre produced in India, at the ongoing 12th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) 2014 in Kolkata, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
The company also introduced ALT 188 TX tyre with the industry’s first traction tread design at the exhibition.

Apollo Tyres has launched AWL 822, the largest loader tyre produced in India, at the ongoing 12th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) 2014 in Kolkata, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
The company also introduced ALT 188 TX tyre with the industry’s first traction tread design at the exhibition.
AWL 822, used for loaders and dozers in high-abrasion conditions, is manufactured using 1,300kg rubber, 700kg carbon black and silica, 200kg nylon fabric and 300kg of other rubber chemicals. With a size of 45/65-45 L5, the tyre has a special tread design with stone ejectors for protection and trouble-free service and side protector for improved resistance to shoulder and sidewall cuts.
ALT 188 TX is a unique and innovative traction tread design introduced in bias construction segment for slurry and muddy conditions. It has a customised tread compound which provides excellent performance in varying mine conditions, wider grooves towards the shoulder which reduce the chances of stone entrapment and superior and enduring carcass for high load carrying capacity and exceptional structural stability under extreme conditions.
AWL 822 and ALT 188 TX are being cured at Apollo's Limda plant in Gujarat, which has one of the biggest curing presses available in Southeast Asia.
