The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has inducted 80 Volvo 8400 city buses into its fleet which have started operations in Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has inducted 80 Volvo 8400 city buses into its fleet which have started operations in Hyderabad. The first orders were implemented last August.
With this order, Volvo’s city buses now operate across 16 cities in the country starting this June with Pondicherry, Solapur, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and Thane.
Volvo has also received first time orders from Mira-Bhayandar municipal transport, the Kalyan Dombivli municipal transport and the Assam STC. Besides these, the Kerala SRTC has placed repeat order for city buses, the company said.
A total of 1,300 buses currently operate in 16 cities in the country. The company’s Bangalore plant has a capacity of 1000 buses in a single shift per year.
The Volvo 8400 city bus meets current Urban Bus Specifications and has several features aimed at enhancing safety, convenience and comfort, the company said.
