Ampere Vehicles reduces e-scooter prices by Rs 5,000
The company's flagship high speed e-scooter ‘Zeal’ will now cost Rs 67,000.
Coimbatore-based electric scooter maker, Ampere Vehicles, part of Greaves Cotton, has reduced prices of its its electric scooters. The price cut comes following the government slashing GST from 12 percent to 5 percent. The company's flagship high-speed e-scooter ‘Zeal’ will now cost Rs 67,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore), including FAME II incentives.
The company sees a reduction of around Rs 5,000 after the 7 percent GST cut. The Zeal was earlier priced at Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
Ampere Electric Vehicles is among India's leading players in the e-mobility field and is part of the diversified engineering company, Greaves Cotton. Ampere was acquired by Greaves Cotton in August 2018 and has been growing steadily with several milestones achieved.
Ampere has focused on clean mobility solutions for last-mile connectivity especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities which have a less-developed public transport system. The company is working on electrification of personal and business transportation needs of customers with a wide range of electric mobility solutions. Greaves Cotton recently increased its stake in Ampere from 67 percent to 81 percent.
