Chennai-based Altius Automotive Technologies is to showcase two new motorcycles with diesel powertrains – one a single-cylinder model and the other a two-cylinder variant – at the DefExpo 2014 which is to be held concurrently with the Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan from February 6. According to promoter BVR Subbu, the indigenisation level is to the tune of 90 percent.

In May 2011, Altius had first revealed its diesel-engined, multi-purpose, 670cc, 33bhp Altius Scimitar motorcycle which was slated to hit the market in 2012 but the project did not take off.
