Advik Hi-Tech sees industry revival by 2020-end, confirms 3 million units new throttle body order

In more action from the Auto Expo 2020 – Components, Pune-based Advik Hi-Tech, a leading component supplier to Indian and overseas OEMs in the two-wheeler, stationary engine and transmission system segments, believes that the domestic industry conditions will normalise by Diwali 2020. There’s good reason for this. The company has confirmed that it has received orders for 3 million units of a new throttle body it has developed for BS VI engines), mostly from Indian OEMs. So, clearly the company’s focus at the Auto Expo is on BS VI and EVs in the expansive product portfolio displayed at its Stall No. 215 in Hall No. 4B-FF.

The company’s latest development for BS VI products includes throttle body, electric purge valve, electric secondary air injection, oxygen sensor, fuel delivery module and electric fuel pump. Speaking to Autocar Professional, Aditya Bhartia, Managing Director of Advik Hi-Tech, “The entire transition from BS IV to BS VI is exciting. The best case revival would be around Diwali 2020. We have added a lot of products for BS VI and the throttle body is a critical part of the BS VI engine and we have a huge business in that. We will be making around 3 million throttle bodies a year, which works out to about 8,000 a day.”

The company’s electric vehicle or EV suite on display at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi includes battery, battery management system (BMS), motor and motor controller along with brake system. Advik Hi-Tech is also displaying its latest offering of Variable Displacement Oil Pump developed through its partnership with SHW Automotive, Germany. The company also has a technical collaboration with German R&D company FMO Technologies (Trochocentric) GmbH for design, development and production of oil pump assemblies for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, stationary engines and transmission systems.

The Advik Group’s annual sales are close to US$100 million (Rs 711.2 crore) and the group’s customer base includes leading automotive original equipment manufacturers in India, Europe, UK, US and the ASEAN region.
