This year’s theme ‘Driving Mobility through Technology, Digitization & Sustainability’ was aimed at ACMA’s endeavour to facilitate the transition of the auto component industry from a conventional one to mobility industry. The summit recognized and felicitated ACMA members for excellence across parameters such as exports, product innovation, manufacturing, human resources and environmental safety.

The summit was attended by dignitaries from the government and industry including, Piyush Goyal, the union minister for Textiles, Commerce & Industry and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Government of India, Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister for Heavy Industries Government of India, Dr Pawan K. Goenka, SCALE Chairman Designate – In space, department of space, and  Kenichi Ayukawa, President, SIAM and MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki, among others.

Goyal said, “These are one of the most coveted awards in auto sector that help the industry to benchmark its work and achieve excellence. The Government is ready to partner with the industry, addressing their needs to achieve game changing results. As an industry, we should also focus on R&D and move from traditional technologies to new technologies. It is important for companies to evolve and embrace cutting-edge technologies like e-mobility to remain relevant.”

Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said, “The government of India is keen to support the automotive industry, the FAME 2 and PLI scheme are some of the necessary steps in this direction. The government is keen to incentivize investments in advanced technologies to create a robust eco-system to address the future mobility goals of India and welcomes the joint ACMA-SIAM roadmap on localization to reduce dependence on imports.”

The ACMA Technology Summit brought together experts and industry leaders to deliberate and collaborate on building an Atmanirbhar Automotive value-chain through advanced technologies. The summit saw sessions addressed by the experts on the future mobility, next generation mobility solutions and new-age manufacturing technologies to stay ahead of the curve.

Sunjay Kapur, President, ACMA said, “The Indian automotive component industry is at the cusp of change. Companies have already started adopting new age technologies such as telematics, ADAS and automation fast transforming the industry. Whilst the industry has faced several headwinds, the support of our government with policies like PLI schemes, FAME has enabled us to stay strong and remain globally competitive.”

The summit also hosted panel discussions on the themes Driving Mobility Through Technology, Digitization, Sustainable Business Excellence and an Exclusive Leadership Session.
