12th ACMEE machine tools expo opens in Chennai
The event is slated to see a number of new product launches and technologies aimed at increasing manufacturing productivity, reduction of cost and energy saving for the domestic market.
ACMEE 2016, the 12th international machine tools exhibition on machine tools, organised by Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA) and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), opened at the Chennai Trade Centre today.
The biennial event, which has 465 exhibitors, is showcasing a gamut of machine tools and technologies including CNC, special purpose machines, industrial robotics, automation, and material handling equipment, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, tools, dies and moulds, and fabrication.
The event is slated to see a number of new product launches and technologies aimed at increasing manufacturing productivity, reduction of cost and energy saving for the domestic market. There are also to be technical sessions and live demonstrations.
The event was inaugurated by Hitoshi Kono, executive vice-president and deputy managing director, India Yamaha Motors; Riuji Kawashima, managing director, Toshiba JSW Power Systems; and Hidehiro Ishiura, director general, Japan External Trade Organisation.
Speaking at the inauguration, ACMEE 2016 chairman R Ramchander said, “This is one of the best exhibitions so far and in its 12th edition, the show has grown bigger this year with participants from India and abroad. There are nearly 125 countries participation with 40 of them participating directly.”
Besides participants from India, there are exhibitors from countries like China, Czech, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, UK and USA. Some of the prominent names at the exhibition include AMS, Schunk, Mitsubishi Minerals, OSG, Makino, Dalian Machine Tool Group, Fanuc, Tsugami, Korloy, LMW, BFW, Jyoti, HMT, Tungaloy, Fagor, Mitutoyo and Losma.
