Sometime in 2001–2002, inside the fluorescent-lit receiving bays of a major automotive Tier-1 supplier, a quality inspector from Bajaj Auto was flipping through a thick stack of carbon-copy inward inspection sheets — a monotonous landscape of part numbers and rubber-stamped approvals.
