Industry professionals on Autocar Professional
Autocar Professional’s 300th edition has just rolled out. Here’s what some of India’s automotive industry professionals have to say about India’s leading automotive B2B magazine.
The June 1 and the 300th issue of Autocar Professional has just rolled out. This magazine began its journey on December 15, 2004, with an aim to “track the Indian automotive industry’s growth and provide an unrivalled and up-to-date package of news, analysis and data.”
The inaugural issue’s cover story was an exclusive interview with Suzuki Motor Corp’s CEO, Osamu Suzuki who told us why India is key to his company’s future. A little over 12 years later, Maruti is the jewel in the Japanese carmaker’s crown. From that edition through to this issue, India’s now sole automotive fortnightly has ensured that it adheres to its core mantra of providing ‘essential reading for the automotive industry’.
Over the years, Autocar Professional has extended its brand equity into the online space with www.autocarpro.in, which is today a popular website for automotive netizens in India and abroad. The brand has also established a new platform of events (conferences, webinars, seminars) that bring together industry professionals to discuss and debate key topics.
For over 12 years, Team Autocar Professional has put in effort to deliver content that is 'essential reading' for auto industry professionals and others who have an interest in things automotive. We feel humbled to have received some very encouraging feedback from professionals – industry veterans to young entrepreneurs set to enter the industry. We appreciate it. Your support and feedback also fuels our practice of kaizen.
Venu Srinivasan, CMD, TVS Motor Co
“Autocar Professional is an outstanding magazine. I think it has improved, with time, the format and the quality of the content. The one area it could touch up upon, in addition to the automotive industry and the supply chain, is the dealership and distribution part of the industry.”
Dr Pawan Goenka, MD, Mahindra & Mahindra
"Autocar Professional is clearly unique, different from other auto magazines because it is aimed at professionals in automotive engineering and not at customers, and to the best of my recollection there is no other magazine like this. Therefore, for all engineers in the automotive field, it almost becomes a must-read. I really appreciate what Autocar has done through Autocar Professional to bring in a channel by which professionals can become updated about the industry from the news that is of interest to them rather than about which car is getting launched, the specs of the car and so and so forth. I really appreciate it. I cannot say I get a chance to read everything but at least I flip through the pages of each and every issue of Autocar Professional."
Ravi Damodaran, president – Technology & Strategy, Varroc
“These last few years have witnessed the automotive industry challenged on various fronts from policy clarity, economic slowdowns and difficult business climate to increased competition, technology handicaps and a hesitant leadership forced to drive unpalatable changes by an aggressively progressive government. These are exciting times for thought leaders to show the right path forward for the industry. The dependence on timely, accurate and well researched reports on market, industry and technology updates is extremely crucial for me to be able to stay on top and provide valuable analysis and realistic outlook to all my stakeholders. I am happy to say that Autocar Professional is the one magazine I depend on most to maintain my thought leader image in the industry. The excellent choice and quality of your articles eliminates the need for alternates. Keep up the good efforts.”
Prakash M Telang, former MD, Tata Motors
“In spite of my retirement and nearly about four-and-a-half years of being away from the industry, this is one thing I normally would like to keep in touch with. Also, I like it that there is no sensational journalism here. It's absolutely down to earth, solid things that a good technocrat would want to see in a magazine.”
Rashmi Urdhwareshe, director, ARAI
“I have worked very closely with Autocar Professional and I have seen its growth. What really strikes me is the balance in bringing up the subjects to the automotive fraternity. One more thing – there’s a human angle in many stories.”
Murali Vaidyanathan, MD – South Asia, Director – Operations, South Asia, South Africa & South America, Hanon Systems
"I have been reading Autocar Professional for several years now. It has presented a very detailed insight into the auto industry. The stories, interviews and text are of a high standard with an impressive presentation style. I wish the Autocar Professional team many more years of successful reporting”.
Kapil Shelke, founder & CEO, Tork Motorcycles
“Autocar Professional provides in-depth research and news of who is doing what and how. We have the trust and that’s the good part, that’s what your research means to us. It’s fantastic, so keep that going. We love it.”
