Hero MotoCorp domestic sales up 9% at 508,309 units

Hero MotoCorp domestic sales up 9% at 508,309 units

India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has recorded 9 percent growth in the domestic market in May 2023, at 508,309 units. The company recorded 466,466 unit sales in the domestic market in the same month a year ago.

"The momentum is expected to continue in the coming months, driven by an uptick in customer sentiments, a forecast of a normal monsoon, and a host of new launches in the premium segment," Hero Motocorp said in a release.

During the month under review, the company sold 489,336 units of motorcycles as compared to 452,246 units in May 2022, up 8.2 percent. Last month, Hero MotoCorp introduced the OBD-II & E20 compliant XPulse 200 4V.

The company's scooter sales, however, declined to 30,138 units in May 2023 as compared to 34,458 units in the same month a year ago.

Hero MotoCorp's exports stood at 11,165 units last month as compared to 20,238 units in May 2022, down 45 percent.
