Mobec Targets $13 Billion Lithium Battery Recycling Sector Through Strategic Partnerships

Mobec Innovation, a provider of mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and energy storage systems, has announced a strategic shift towards lithium battery recycling by adopting a partnership-based expansion model. This move is intended to address the growing volume of battery waste generated by electric vehicles, solar energy systems, and other sectors, while contributing to India’s Net Zero targets.

The company has entered into its first strategic partnership in Greater Noida, an industrial area in northern India. The collaboration marks the beginning of Mobec’s efforts to create a national framework for lithium battery recycling operations, enabling greater resource recovery and environmental compliance.

Mobec's new model is designed to give strategic partners access to its recycling technologies, established operational systems, and technical expertise. According to the company, this approach supports the development of recycling facilities capable of recovering valuable materials, including rare metals, from used batteries.

“The increase in lithium-ion battery usage presents both challenges and potential,” said Harry Bajaj, Founder and CEO of Mobec Innovation. “Through partnerships, we aim to create viable business opportunities while supporting responsible environmental practices.”

In its initial phase, Mobec plans to focus on building capacity and ensuring long-term financial and environmental stability for all stakeholders involved. The company has also indicated that talks are ongoing with other potential partners in various regions.

Mobec is currently focusing on battery waste from electric vehicles, consumer electronics, energy storage systems (ESS), and industrial equipment. The company also plans to expand its operations in power backup systems and lithium battery recycling, with an emphasis on promoting the circular economy.

Mobec’s in-house chemistry team will oversee the recycling process to ensure safe and efficient recovery of materials. Additionally, an integrated inventory management system will be used to monitor and streamline material tracking throughout the recycling process.

Based in Noida, Mobec Innovation Pvt. Ltd. offers mobile EV charging solutions (ranging from 5 to 60 kW), battery recycling services, and energy storage systems. Its products and services support electric mobility infrastructure while promoting material recovery and energy efficiency across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The company is currently scaling its plant operations to support growing demand across India.
