Mann + Hummel develops new cabin air filter that keeps allergens away

The Mann+ Hummel Group is to showcase its newly developed FreciousPlus cabin filter this year’s Automechanika Frankfurt to be held from September 16 to 20.

According to the company, the FreciousPlus cabin filter binds allergens almost completely and, as far as possible, prevents bacteria and fungi penetrating the air in the passenger compartment of cars and commercial vehicles.

The company’s existing cabin air filters contain a particulate filter layer, and often an additional activated carbon layer. Particles in the fine range – greater than one micron – as well as harmful gases and odours are absorbed, thereby effectively preventing them from entering the vehicle. FreciousPlus now contains a third, biofunctional layer which is anti-allergenic, anti-microbial and protects vehicle occupants as it is even more effective against allergens.

The Mann + Hummel Group is a leading global expert in filtration solutions and a development partner and series supplier to the global automotive and mechanical engineering industries. Its products include air filter systems, intake manifold systems, liquid filter systems, cabin filters and plastic components for sound design, as well as filter elements for maintenance of motor vehicles.
