Automotive Testing Expo opens in Chennai
Key exhibitors include Honeywell Automation, AVL List, Horiba India, IDIADA Automotive Technology, Kistler Instruments, ARAI, ETAS Automotive, iASYS, Josts Engineering, MTS Systems, Ipetronik India and Siemens.
The fourth edition of the Automotive Testing Expo 2016 (ATE) opened at the Chennai Trade Centre today.
The biennial event showcases equipment for all types of vehicle test assessment, from stress and durability test equipment through to full scale test rigs, test simulation and aerodynamics development tools, engine testing equipment and full test track facilities.
The Automotive Testing Expo aims at drawing representatives of vehicle manufacturers from across the country, who can check out the very latest component and complete vehicle test and development technologies and services at a single location. This year’s show, which has around 120 exhibitors from 13 countries, also presents an opportunity to network with likeminded engineers and R&D chiefs.
Key exhibitors at this year’s event include Honeywell Automation, AVL List Gmbh, Horiba India, IDIADA Automotive Technology, Kistler Instruments, ARAI, ETAS Automotive, iASYS, Josts Engineering, MTS Systems, Ipetronik India, Siemens, Sushma Industries and others.
Speaking to Autocar Professional, Dominic Cundy, managing director, automotive event division, UKIP Media & Event, the organiser of the expo, said, “This year, nearly 120 companies have participated in the expo and are displaying their products and technologies. The number of exhibitors is almost equal to the last edition held in 2014 and we are expecting excellent footfall over the next three days.”
The exhibitors are largely classified into acoustic testing, aerodynamic and wind tunnel testing, automotive test equipment, automatic inspection, battery technology, calibration, climate test equipment, climate testing, component testing, connectors for test equipment, corrosion testing, crash test analysis, data acquisition and signal analysis and durability test, engine/emission testing, vehicle simulation and vibration and shock testing.
This year too, the expo features a focused technology demonstration area which will play host to a series of hour-long presentations from leading industry experts from ETAS, Vector Informatik, Ono Sokki, IMV Corporation and ARAI.
Along with India, ATE is also held in the US, Germany, China and South Korea.
