Waaree Energies Receives Top Performer Rating in Global Solar Module Reliability Study

Waaree Energies Limited has been designated a "Top Performer" in the 2025 PV Module Reliability Scorecard published by Kiwa PVEL, an independent laboratory that conducts photovoltaic reliability testing worldwide. The Mumbai-based company achieved this status by having at least one module model perform as a top performer across all seven test categories in the evaluation.

The scorecard assessment is based on Kiwa PVEL's Product Qualification Program, which subjects solar modules to accelerated stress tests designed to simulate decades of field conditions. These tests include Thermal Cycling, Damp Heat exposure, Mechanical Stress Sequence testing, and Potential Induced Degradation analysis.

Dr. Amit Paithankar, Whole-time Director and CEO of Waaree Energies, stated that the recognition reflects the company's transition from manufacturing focus to integrated clean energy solutions provider. Tristan Erion-Lorico, VP of Sales and Marketing at Kiwa PVEL, noted that achieving top performer status across all test categories demonstrates commitment to quality in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Waaree Energies operates as India's largest solar module manufacturer with global manufacturing capacity of approximately 15 gigawatts for solar PV modules. This includes facilities in India and a 1.6 GW facility in Texas. The company also maintains 1.4 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity with expansion potential to 5.4 GW.

Founded in 1990, Waaree has expanded operations to more than 25 countries and provides services including module manufacturing, engineering procurement and construction, project development, and rooftop solar systems. The company's manufacturing facilities include acquired capacity from Indosolar totaling 1.3 GW.

Kiwa PVEL's annual scorecard serves as a benchmark for solar module reliability in the industry. The testing program evaluates modules from manufacturers worldwide to assess their performance under stress conditions that replicate long-term field exposure.

The recognition comes as Waaree continues expansion of its global presence in the renewable energy sector, positioning itself as a provider of utility-scale solar solutions alongside its traditional manufacturing operations.
