Nissan sells 428,009 units globally in July 2018; down 4.7%

Exports from non-Japanese markets have risen and the company saw positive sales growth only in China.

Nissan sells 428,009 units globally in July 2018; down 4.7%

Japanese carmaker Nissan has reported selling 428,009 units globally in July 2018, a decrease of 4.7 percent YoY. The company said that 88.07 percent of its July sales arrived from the non-Japanese markets, which was also a decline of 5.2 percent.

Nissan states that it sold 1,785,742 units between April-July 2018 with reference to 1,820,776 units for the same period last year. The company saw a significant positive growth only in China which also includes the DF brand passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.

The company reported that its global production volume has decreased by 5.1 percent (406,978 units) in July 2018. For April-July 2018, Nissan’s global production figure stood at 1,778,618 units, a drop of 3.9 percent as compared to the earlier year.  The production numbers were largely driven by China with 113,403 units during July 2018, a rise of 6.4 percent.

Total exports from Japan reduced by 37.6 percent on a YoY basis with the total units amounting to 38,852 in July 2018. However, exports from other countries like Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, Brazil, India, Egypt, Russia and France rose by 24.8 percent resulting to 18,063 units.
