TVS Logistics appoints R Shankar as CEO

January 16, 2013: TVS Logistics Services has announced the appointment of R. Shankar as its chief executive officer. Shankar, in his new role, will be responsible for managing the company’s India operations and will be entrusted with expansion of business verticals across India.

TVS Logistics appoints R Shankar as CEO
January 16, 2013: TVS Logistics Services has announced the appointment of R. Shankar as its chief executive officer. Shankar, in his new role, will be responsible for managing the company’s India operations and will be entrusted with expansion of business verticals across India.

Shankar, who is the first CEO of Indian TVS Logistics Operations, will be based at the Chennai office and will report to S Ravichandran, executive director, TVS Logistics Services. A graduate engineer with post-graduation in management, Shankar has over 28 years of executive leadership in automobile and engineering industry experience.

Commenting on the appointment, Ravichandran said, “We are happy to have Shankar on board to head the business operations in India. His result-oriented approach and rich experience in marketing will play a key role in further expanding our relationship with customers on all the service verticals we offer. I am confident that Shankar, in his new role, will be able to excel and add value to our organisation.”

Expressing his delight on the new role at TVS Logistics, Shankar says, “I am excited to be a part of TVS Logistics Services, which has been growing aggressively over the years both in domestic and in its international operations. I am confident that I will be able to contribute to the organisation’s growth through business expansion in India besides bringing in global best practices available in our overseas acquisitions to meet our Indian customers’ requirements with the appropriate Indian value additions.”

Shankar, a member of All India Management Association has hands-on experience in business development, network management and sales, marketing and branding, product planning, aftersales and customer care, auto financing and corporate affairs including legal and government affairs and administration.

Shankar began his career with Godrej & Boyce and has worked with the Eicher Group, Tata Motors and Beiqi Foton of China. KARTHIK H
