Piaggio launches Vespa Red at Rs 87,009
The special edition Vespa Red has been launched to underline their commitment to fighting AIDS; gets a new special red colour; mechanically unchanged.
Piaggio has introduced a new special edition Vespa Red in India at Rs 87,009 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), which is available in all Vespa retails outlets across the country. The Vespa Red has been launched to underline Vespa’s commitment to its fight against AIDS with UN Goodwill Ambassador Farhan Akhtar.
The scooter is finished in the same red colour as the organisation founded by U2 singer Bono co-created, called Red, to fight AIDS. Every Vespa Red that is purchased will trigger a $50 (about Rs 3,275) donation to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in India. The donation can provide more than 165 days of medication that can help to save a mother’s life and prevent her from passing on the virus to an unborn baby.
In terms of features, the Vespa Red gets new red 12-inch alloy wheels and a red finish for the leather seat. The 210mm front brakes are the same as the standard model, as is the 125cc engine that puts out 10.1hp and 10.6Nm of torque.
Along with the scooter, the Vespa is also offering exclusive Vespa Red merchandise including a helmet, t-shirt and a hat.
The standard 125cc Vespa rivals the likes of the Suzuki Access 125 and the Honda Activa 125.
