JLR India launches petrol variant for 2017 Range Rover Evoque

In December, Jaguar Land Rover India launched the 2017 Range Rover Evoque diesel with the 2.2-litre engine, making way for the new 2.0-litre Ingenium motor. The automaker, at the time, had said that a petrol model would join the line-up in January.

The Tata Motors-owned company has now revealed the pricing of the new petrol model which costs Rs 53.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The petrol engine is the same 241hp 2.0-litre petrol unit as seen on the Evoque’s sister model, the Land Rover Discovery Sport, and is available only in the mid-level SE trim. As with the diesel, the petrol motor is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Standard equipment offered includes a panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric adjust front seats and JLR’s eight-inch InControl Touch infotainment system with navigation.

As with its diesel siblings, the petrol Evoque has no direct rivals though its pricing places it against the petrol variants of the BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Mercedes GLC.
