Greaves Cotton bags ‘Excellence in Delivery’ award from Tata Motors

Greaves Cotton bags ‘Excellence in Delivery’ award from Tata Motors
June 6, 2012: Greaves Automotive Division, part of Greaves Cotton, has won the award for ‘Excellence in Delivery’ from Tata Motors at the Tata Motors Vendors’ Meet 2012 held in Pune. The company has ramped up volumes for meeting the growing demand for engines for the Ace Zip and Magic Iris small commercial vehicles (SCVs). In fact, earlier today, Tata Motors’ Dharwad, Karnataka plant has gone on stream and begun rolling out the Ace Zip and Magic Iris SCVs. The plant has a production capacity of 90,000 vehicles per annum.

Commenting on the win, Sanjiv Kumar, CEO – Greaves Automotive Division, said: "Coming from the Tata Motors stable, this award is recognition of our manufacturing prowess and high levels of delivery and adherence to stringent time schedules. In its continuous efforts to respond to market demands, Greaves Automotive Division is now focusing on the four-wheel SCV segment through its technologically superior product offerings and a strong aftermarket network and over 400 authorised dealers.”

Greaves Automotive Division has a wide portfolio of automotive engines and is among the largest independent manufacturers of single-cylinder engines with a production of over 450,000 engines per annum. These light diesel engines, which are eco-friendly and conform to BS III norms, are supplied to OEMs like Piaggio, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors and Scooters India among others. The automotive diesel engines are also available for adaptation on CNG/LPG usage.

The company’s modern manufacturing units, located at Ranipet in Tamil Nadu and Aurangabad in Maharashtra, are ISO/TS 14649 certified. Greaves also has a state-of-the-art technology centre at Aurangabad.
