Autocar Professional, February 15 issue: Auto Expo 2018 review

As global megatrends like electrification, connected vehicles and autonomous driving make their way into India, there may be some who look at them as trends that may not have a major influence, and hence not worth making major preparations for. In the components industry, some started preparing a few years ago, some started moving from denial mode to acceptance mode, and some could be still waiting to get clearer signals. It's a no-brainer to guess who stands a better chance of success when the global megatrends become strong market trends here.

Therefore, at the Auto Expo – Components Show, it was good to see technology demonstration vehicles by Indian suppliers, who otherwise only exhibit their components, maybe a whole lot of them. Be it connected features, autonomous driving technologies, new-age lighting technologies and some advanced technology solutions, at least a set of Indian component manufacturers are making strong efforts in the right directions.

The recently concluded Auto Expo 2018 saw both vehicle makers and component suppliers showcase their latest innovations, products and technologies designed to make the most of new megatrends. Autocar Professional’s latest issue is all about industry trends, new products on two-, four and more wheels and also components, big and small. Plus, exclusive interviews and lots more. 

At the Auto Expo – Components Show, suppliers from India as well as foreign markets showcased a large number of innovative products and the latest technologies designed to help vehicle manufacturers take on upcoming industry challenges like BS VI, electrification and also more stringent safety norms. Lightweight components of course are de rigueur for the industry.
