Expanding its retail parts service offerings and truck servicing, TVS & Sons has introduced TVS Hypermart, an integrated automotive service centre.

To implement this initiative, the company has signed an agreement with one of the largest fleet associations in Tamil Nadu, the Sankagiri Urimaiyalargal Sangam (SLUS) in order to cater to the requirements of 2,300 members and those who have a cumulative ownership of over 12,000 vehicles. The company hopes this business can touch Rs 100 crore in a few years.

As part of a range of services, SLUS members will enjoy the benefits of an integrated approach to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of vehicles that will focus on preventive maintenance, use of genuine parts, better driving for road safety, better mileage, 24x7 roadside assistance, use of technology for route planning, scheduling and vehicle tracking to improve vehicle up-time, and insurance solutions.

Hypermart will provide parts, lubricants, consumables, inventory management, vehicle servicing, warranty and claim management, fleet management, IT/Technology and loyalty points.

G Srinivasa Raghavan, CEO and global president, TVS & Sons, said, “We aim to be a one-stop solution with wide ranges of services. Over 90 percent of the parts that are required for the member will be provided through Hypermart.”

One key offering will be inventory management capability to ensure the parts are available. This will be integrated with services so that whenever a member visits TVS and an Ashok Leyland service centre (which has a dealership tie-up with TVS), he can get high-quality service with associated benefits. A membership card will be provided to each member so that they can track loyalty points.

TVS currently runs its PartSmart initiative, which is an extended arm of its distribution business on a franchise model.
