Speaking at the launch on June 14, Tomas Ernberg, managing director, Volvo Auto India, said, "The Volvo V40 has received the top rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP collision test. The overall result is the best ever recorded by the institute. The car will bring in new impetus to our growth strategy in India.”
Sudeep Narayan, marketing & PR director, added: “The V40 Cross Country will attract the new generation of young, upmarket luxury car buyers primarily because it offers high-end technology, driveability, safety and features parallel to none in this price bracket.”
Volvo Auto India sold 212 units in the last fiscal. The company hopes to launch updates of its other models in the course of the current year. As a strategy, the company is following the CBU route to bring its products here. The company reportedly has a tie-up with Bajaj Allianz for insurance.
