TVS Motor launches new 110cc Radeon commuter bike

Chennai-based two-wheeler major strengthens its commuter motorcycle portfolio, targets sales of 200,000 Radeons in first year of production.

TVS Motor launches new 110cc Radeon commuter bike

TVS Motor Company today launched its newest commuter motorcycle – the new 110cc TVS Radeon – priced at Rs 48,400 (ex-showroom New Delhi) targeted at the mass market. According to the company, this product is in line with its “emphasis on developing products which not only meet distinct customer requirements but also create customer delight.”

With the Radeo, TVS has expanded its commuter motorcycle stable to four products including the Victor, Star City Plus and the Sport. The company, which is targeting sales of around 200,000 units of the new Radeon over the next 12 months, has invested Rs 60 crore in developing the common platform on which the new commuter motorcycle is based.

Speaking at the launch of the Radeon in Chennai, Sudarshan Venu, joint managing director, TVS Motor Company, said, “Over the years, TVS Motor Company’s unwavering focus on quality and reliability has yielded contemporary, and attractive products for the market. TVS Motor aims to tap the fast-growing demand in the commuter motorcycle segment and says that with the Radeon it is targeting rural/small town buyers. This, it says, is a sweet spot that comprises 56 percent of the local market. 

Product highlights 
TVS says the Radeon promises a sturdy and reliable experience for its customers, complete with a solid body, which is complemented by a strong steel tubular chassis. The specific design ensures longevity of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle is equipped with Synchronised Braking Technology, a first-in-segment feature, which provides superior braking control and minimises skidding thus ensuring safety of the rider. The side-stand indicator is equipped with a beeper2 to avoid accidents. The larger 18 size wheels coupled with the Dura Grip tyres provide better grip and comfort for the rider.

The TVS Radeon boasts of the largest cushioned seat in the segment, both in terms of length and width. The telescopic oil damped front suspension together with 5-step adjustable rear hydraulic shock absorber aid both comfort and longevity. The motorcycle provides a steady ride boasting of a long wheelbase of 1265 mm coupled with the high ground clearance of 180 mm. The riding experience is made seamless with a low seat height, self-start and handy functional features like a USB charging2 spot and convenient pillion grab-rail.

The motorcycle boasts of a stable, horizontal, design with stylish chrome ascents. The powerful headlamp, with a chrome bezel, is integrated with DRL (Daytime Running Lamps).

On the performance front, the TVS Radeon, which is powered by a 109.7cc Dura-Life engine, delivers 8.4 PS of power at 7000rpm with torque of 8.7 Nm at 5000 rpm. The TVS Radeon, which houses a 10-litre tank, is claimed to deliver fuel economy of 69.3 kilometres per litre. The bike comes with a 5-year warranty and will be available in three colours – White, Beige, Purple and Black.
