Small towns attract Triumph’s attention, kicks-off mobile showroom drive

Small towns attract Triumph’s attention, kicks-off mobile showroom drive

Triumph Motorcycles India today flagged off its first mobile dealership concept, to tap demand for premium motorcycles coming in from the semi-urban areas in the country. 

The company, which launched its Street Triple RS in the national capital today, also alongside, unveiled its mobile showroom, which aims to best utilise the festive season and reach out to the far flung corners of the country.

The mobile dealership, armed with the latest motorcycle offerings from the company’s portfolio is slated to tour the northern part of the country in its first leg, and cover key tier II and tier III cities across the country, which do not have a Triumph outlet. Smaller cities and towns could be added in the next phase. The premium motorcycle brand currently boasts a 14 showroom network, set to expand to 17 by end of this calendar year.

According to Vimal Sumbly, managing director, Triumph Motorcycles India, “With the market having recovered from the adversities of demonitisation and better disposable incomes on account of 7th Pay Commission and on the back of a generally good monsoon, the company is looking to fulfil the dreams of the enthusiasts in the smaller towns, who yearn for a rounded premium motorcycle experience, along with premium merchandise, where Triumph, aims to introduce more technical apparel to suit the rider’s need.”

Triumph Motorcycles India, which has seen a tremendous growth rate in the country registered a 27 percent surge YoY for the Q2 of FY2018, having sold 632 units between April-September 2017. It has sold a total of 4,500 units in the Indian market since the brand made its entry in 2013.

“We will be releasing a concrete schedule and specific coordinates where the van would be stationed and prospective customers and enthusiasts in these towns could then experience and book their bikes through these dealerships”, he added.
